What a Piso WiFi Vendo Machine Does
A piso wifi vendo machine sells internet by time. You pay with a coin, and the machine gives your device a countdown of minutes. When the countdown ends, the connection stops until you pay again. Some machines also work with vouchers, and the amount of time per peso depends on the owner.
Connecting to the Network
Pick the vendo network in your WiFi list and join it. Switch off mobile data on Android and iPhone so your phone sticks with the local connection. Many phones then open a sign in page by themselves. If yours does not, open Chrome and type 10.0.0.1 into the address bar.
Logging In the First Time
Some machines ask you to insert a coin on the portal screen, and others ask for a voucher code or a quick sign in. If the page will not load or keeps sending you back, follow the steps on how to login to Piso WiFi. Keep the first portal screen open, because it shows the minutes you have left.
Using Piso WiFi Pause Time
Pause time stops the countdown so the minutes you paid for stay saved. Use it when you step away for a meal, a call or an errand.
- Open 10.0.0.1 while you are still connected.
- Tap the pause button next to your timer.
- Check that the timer shows paused before you leave.
- Come back, open 10.0.0.1 on the same phone and tap resume.
Keep browsing
Minutes keep dropping, even when you are not looking at the screen.
Pause first
Minutes are held on the machine until you press resume.
Ending Your Session
When you are finished, you do not need to do anything. If minutes remain, you can pause and return later, up to the limit the owner has set. If the limit passes, the minutes may expire, so ask the shop about the rule before you leave.
Beginner Mistakes to Skip
- Leaving mobile data on, which hides the portal page.
- Typing the address with extra zeros.
- Running a VPN, which blocks the portal.
- Looking for a pause app. The pause button lives on the portal page.
- Walking out of range before pausing.
A Note for Machine Owners
Pause time only appears if you enable it in the admin settings, usually at 10.0.0.1 with /admin added. Pick a sensible maximum, change the default password and test on Android and iPhone. Software such as LPB, Ado and Pisofi all handle pause a little differently, so check what your firmware calls the option. For a board focused walkthrough, read the LPB Piso WiFi 10.0.0.1 page.
